Background:

Drawn to people and the ability to listen, care and nurture in many different styles my career choices have always included close interaction with my clients. My various careers have been in the Travel Industry, Catering Industry and in a Therapeutic Environment.

It was in 1999 when my children were small and I had hung up my traveling shoes that a friend invited me to join her in studying Body Massage. This was the beginning of a new journey for me drawing from each Complementary Therapy over the last 18 years much internal healing for myself for which I am eternally grateful and for which I am so pleased to be able to pass onto others. The link running through each modality is STRESS and the impact it has on every level of our beings, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

From 2001 to 2003 I studied Stress Management with The Stress Consultancy of Sheffield, UK. Sections of the course included muscular tension and its association with chronic stress, coping with stress, relaxed breathing, progressive muscular relaxation, guided meditation and Cognitive Therapy and Rational Emotional Behavioral Therapy. In 2003 I moved from Zimbabwe to Cape Town and during the integration process of settling in a new country my studies in this field were put on hold. I have however re- registered with the Institute, now named The Stress Management Institute and anticipate qualifying as a Stress Management Consultant in 2018.

In 2009 I began my studies again and in 2011 qualified as a Kinesiologist. As a Kinesiologist   I was able to use muscle testing techniques to identify imbalances in the body which encompassed structural, chemical, emotional and spiritual balances.

The natural progression from there was to study the Myyo Technique in 2016 once again focusing on the muscular system and the manual release of muscles combined with yoga exercises to achieve and sustain pain relief and optimal health. Aspects of Kinesiology are included and are often incorporated into the treatment. Having practiced yoga for 10 years I felt as though I had come home being able to combine these two modalities into one. As part of the Myyo Technique the Ananda Sanga Educational Institute introduced training in AnandaPrana Techniques in 2017. This technique, an Ayurvedic healing modality, includes 2 massages that are deeply relaxing, rejuvenating, detoxing, grounding and a perfect antidote for those suffering from stress and stress related illnesses.

Understanding, first hand, the effects of stress and consequential health problems, if left unchecked, my role in the Dynamic Healing Centre, will be to offer supportive and nurturing de-stressing modalities.
